JOANNA NG

A native of Austin, Texas, Joanna turned a freelance gig with KINETIK into a full-time position shortly after earning a BFA in Graphic Design from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2007. Usually quiet and reserved, Joanna brings thoughtfulness and articulate reasoning to all her designs. She is creative and resourceful and is inspired by simplicity and innovation in design and good color. Joanna is crafty outside of KINETIK, too—creating jewelry, books and pins and designing team t-shirts for the Alliance for Lupus Research Walk for the Cure, a cause she believes in.

HENRIQUE SIBLESZ

The newest member of our design team, Henri began interning for KINETIK in 2007 and continued throughout his senior year at the Corcoran College of Art + Design. After earning a BFA in Graphic Design in May 2008, Henri brought a blend of traditional publications design and cutting edge multimedia experience to KINETIK full time, where he now focuses primarily on digital and interactive projects. An avid photographer and traveler—with a special love for the visual paradise of his homeland Venezuela—Henri is passionate about design, art, and his family.

BETH CLAWSON

After earning a Bachelor of Graphic Design from NC State University, Beth came on board in 1998. Now a senior designer, she is always eager to solve problems and share her ideas. Beth enjoys the entire KINETIK design process and blends her love of typography and images with client messages to develop powerful print work. Conceptual and crafty, when not creating brochures and logos, Beth may turn discarded wire into a piece of modern jewelry or vintage fabrics into useful home items and “recycled” clothing. She also enjoys spinning and dying her own handmade yarns to use in her textile creations.

SCOTT RIER

Scott began working at KINETIK as a college intern in 1994. After receiving his BFA in Graphic Design from the Corcoran College of Art + Design the next year, he joined the KINETIK team full time. Scott is now the most senior designer on staff and his thoughtful, steady nature and patient dedication have earned him the admiration and respect of clients and colleagues alike. His conceptual approach to design combined with a practiced sketching ability enables him to visualize solutions quickly and effectively. An expert in systems and publications design, Scott’s work is packed with meaning and elegance.

JENNY SKILLMAN

Both Jenny’s degree in journalism and extensive experience in creative departments of several nonprofit associations are a strong foundation for her diverse role as managing director at KINETIK. Since 2001, Jenny has served as a liaison between clients and designers, developed and evaluated project schedules and goals, and diligently implemented a tried and true KINETIK quality control standard. She is continually inspired by talented designers and by helping them focus some of their creativity on business management, process development and refinement, and life/work balance issues.

JEFF FABIAN

Jeff is a 1985 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. Armed with a BFA in Communication Arts and Design, he and two classmates founded KINETIK in 1988. A contemplative communicator, Jeff wears many hats. Whether working with the design team to evaluate, critique and develop winning solutions or sharing his vision and insight with clients, Jeff consistently brings innovative creativity and solid business sense together. The body of work he oversees wins accolades from many national arts and design organizations. Clients are equally as impressed with the one-of-a-kind solutions that are developed under Jeff's guiding example.

SAM SHELTON

Sam earned a BFA in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985 and then together with two classmates, he founded KINETIK. Since 1988, Sam has led KINETIK through the day-to-day creative challenges faced in a typical design studio. His strong belief in the power of design helps steer KINETIK's path in a changing world, and his passion shows in the projects he directs as well as his commitment to design education and AIGA—the professional association for design. In 2006, Sam was presented with the AIGA Fellow award, recognizing his significant contributions to the design community.

JACKIE RATSCH

Jackie has been integral to the KINETIK work flow since 2000. Carefully tracking and reviewing the financial and accounting books, she is the one who watches our bottom line and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. An Excel maven, Jackie makes number crunching a pleasant task. As if all this isn't enough, she also answers the phones, manages the supplies and facilities, and somehow always has a smile on her face. She is a financial wizard—a woman constantly on the go who quietly keeps us all on our toes. Simply put, she is an indispensable part of the KINETIK team.

BEVERLEY HUNTER

With a degree in graphic design, Beverley brings an uncommon outlook to her role as KINETIK's managing director of production and operations. Since 1994, she has collaborated with our design team on paper specification, printing and fabrication. Beverley brings her technical expertise to every job that moves through the studio and serves as the primary contact with all our suppliers. Her attention to detail and her superb negotiating skills ensure that each project meets KINETIK's standards of quality. Outside the studio, Beverley is an accomplished artist, often working on mosaic projects in the same scales as the myriad KINETIK jobs she manages—from miniature pieces to entire rooms.
